We at Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital understand that when someone has been addicted to a substance for any length of time, quitting cold turkey can be a difficult path to maneuver alone. Even with the wealth of information surrounding addiction, there are still many misconceptions surrounding what addiction looks like and what treatment consists of for individuals.

Each individual who utilizes our Chemical Dependency and/or Medical Detox Treatment will receive a treatment team that will guide them down their personal journey through recovery. This treatment team will work closely to develop a treatment plan and assess the level of improvement while making any needed recommendations and changes to ensure a successful recovery. We offer a dedicated wing for individuals who are needing Medical Detox services ensuring that while they are here with us at Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, they are receiving the best care possible for their specific needs.

Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital’s Inpatient Services can help with Medical Detox as well as Chemical Dependency. BBHH’s Stepping Stones Outpatient Program can help with Chemical Dependency through the use of their Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Treatments for Addiction Services:

Medical detoxification: In this phase, a psychiatrist oversees the detox process and medicates according to symptoms. For each individual, this process may take a differing amount of time and that is why we believe in specialized treatment plans to ensure effective outcomes. This period allows for a safe detox from the addiction of choice under the care of a licensed professional.

Inpatient programs: Research tells us that there is often times an entanglement of substance use and the struggle with one’s mental health. For those who are struggling with their mental health along with their desire to fight their addiction, we are able to help them through the use of our

Dual-Diagnosis unit that specializes in addressing those specific concerns. We at Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital understand that only through a holistic approach of recovery and wellness will our patients be able to overcome their addiction as well as learn how to understand their unique struggles and address triggers, stress management, relapse prevention, and much more.

Outpatient programs: Utilizing your treatment team throughout your entire time with us at Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital will enable you to have a continuum of care that is vital to a long-lasting and successful recovery and wellness. Your treatment team works with you to build a solid recovery process and will help you initiate an after-care plan that is best suited to your specific needs. Our outpatient program provides practical tools to manage the daily struggles of life and successfully navigate a lifelong journey down your personal path to recovery. Our outpatient sessions will include individual and family therapy, recreation, music therapy, mindfulness and much more.

Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital’s Inpatient Medical Detox Unit is dedicated to helping individuals who are struggling with addiction. Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital also offers a Dual-Diagnosis unit for the inpatient population who are not only struggling with an addiction but who are also struggling with their mental health simultaneously. It is important to note that individuals who struggle with mental health due to the adverse effects of continued drug and/or alcohol use as opposed to those who are struggling with their mental health and consequently self-medicate should have different approaches to their healing and recovery. At Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, we understand the difference and our addiction specialists and treatment team can help asses and implement a program that is best suited for each patient’s needs.
