On Saturday, November 18th, BBHH was invited to come and give a presentation for the pastoral staff of Bakersfield First Church of the Nazarene. We met some truly great individuals who are working hard to make a difference in their community. It was an honor to be part of such a great and lively discussion.
We gave a presentation about our facility and what we offer here in the way of both inpatient and outpatient services as well as out chemical detox program. We also talked about mental health in general, as well as answered questions from the staff. After our presentation, we were invited to stay and participate in the conversation around how the church deals with mental health, addiction and recovery. They talked about some of the challenges that they face, how these issues were dealt with in the past, and how they could better improve those conversations with the parishioners going forward.
We love being out in our community and meeting great people, like those at BFC. Working together, we can accomplish anything!
