Lunch & Learn: Mental Health Workshops

Bakersfield’s Lunch & Learn Series

Committed to the communities that we serve, Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital believes in community outreach through providing educational events and participation in community health fairs, professional associations, and sponsoring trainings for mental health providers.

On a quarterly basis, Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital offers a workshop for area mental health Professionals covering topics related to mental health, social aspects and professional issues/challenges. These workshops are called Lunch and Learns, and are held from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. Lunch is provided and the speaker begins at 12:00 p.m. Registration is required, as space is limited.

Lunch & Learn - March 2018

On Thursday March 29th, Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, Synergy Recovery and Legacy Village will be partnering up to offer a free Lunch and Learn panel discussion. They will be covering the topic of Employee Wellness, specifically in regards to drug abuse in the work place, how to identify the abuse, and how to address your employees on substance abuse related issues. Our targeted audience for this event is primarily Managers, Supervisors, HR Specialist, EAP Coordinators, Owners, or really anyone who would benefit from this information. Our goal is help our community through resources and education so that we can tackle the obstacles that lay ahead of us and walk down a road to recovery together.

Lunch and Learn Series

Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital's First Lunch & Learn

On January 31st, we held our first Lunch & Learn in our ongoing series for 2018. Our guest speaker for the event were Jen Hefner and Anne Pinckney from The Center for Sexuality & Gender Diversity.

Over the course of an hour, members of our community and some of our BBHH staff learned about diversity and inclusivity. There were many great examples of ways we can help our patient’s feel safe and welcomed as well as how we can interact with each other in a respectful and compassionate way.
